Jesus is the Reason for the Season

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” – Luke 2:11 (KJV)

It is easy during this season to become busy with preparations, decorations, meals, gifts, and gatherings.  None of these things is wrong, but they can quietly crowd out the very reason we celebrate.  Christmas is not first about what we give, but about what God gave.

God gave His Son.

Jesus did not arrive with fanfare or earthly applause.  He came quietly, wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in a manger.  The humility of His birth reveals the heart of God:  He draws near to us, even inour lowest places.  No palace was prepared, yet heaven rejoiced.  No room was made in the inn, yet salvation entered the world.

“The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” – John 1:14

Jesus stepped into our brokenness so we could step into His life.   The manger reminds us that God meets us where we are,  not where we pretend to be.  The season calls usto pause, reflect, and ask a simple question:

Have I made room for Him?

  • Make room for Jesus in your time, slow down and reflect on His coming.
  • Make room for Jesus in your heart, lay down burdens, fears, and distractions.
  • Make room for Jesus in your life, let His presence shape your priorities.

The greatest gift of Christmas is not under the tree; it is Christ within us!
